Hey momma, 2 hours of church at school is going to be super lame, i dont know what i am going to do all day by myself on sundays. just read the scriptures or something i guess. Im sure the wards will start something. Where are you at in the BOM to finish it in the next 8 weeks? I read it in 6 weeks in colima but as assistant i dont have lots of time to study which sucks. Transfers are still a work in progress, this transfer 15 news get here, and next transfer 16 more missionaries are getting here, so we will need 31 trainers in total, this week we couldnt even find 15. We are thinking about seperating the zone leaders so they can train, it might be a nightmare but our other option is stick 16 awful trainers with the news. If i was a mission president i would send people home. there are maybe 4 missionaries that dont want to be here and it doesnt matter who you put them with they dont accomplish anything and just cause problems. President picked another dude for assistant but me and velazquez didnt feel good about it so we told him and he changed it to who we wanted, which was kinda cool but also kinda weird because he never said like "i recieved revelation, or lets pray to recieve confirmation" he kinda just rolls, and half the time we dont pray before planning the transfers which is weird to me. When me and elder velazquez do it alone we pray like every 5 minutes because it is so stinking hard.

This week was crazy, not too much has happened, i became mission president so that was cool. We got the new assistant monday, his name is Elder Mendez. he is from DF, he is fun. We havent left the offices since last Pday, sunday we went to church, went to eat, then had to do the transfers, we read all the missionaries applications (like the huge stack of missiona papers) that they send for the new missionaries coming to try to get a read on them. The best looking missionary sprained his ankle in the MTC and its looking like he is going to go home to heal. idiot. monday we had a meeting with president for the transfers, it was weird because we didnt pray again, we pray when we start, and then we pray transfer day to close them to know that we did what Jesus wants us to do, but like to start and finish the day we never pray, which is weird to me, but he was a 70 so who am i to judge, maybe thats how you are supposed to do things. After we are just doing a fat ton of office stuff to get things ready for the transfers and to teach the new assistant whatsup. Also there was a fat hurricane and president is in DF so according to the manual us 3 became mission presidents, we evacuated a couple areas. One of the missionaries was a branch president and he stayed in his area to prepare his branch instead of leaving, he bought food and water for them and helped tie down everything and board up their houses. that was neat. But now we have all the elders together in 2 different areas and they are putting sandbags on the river because everything is flooding. Thats another reason why we havent been able to leave the offices much because we are watching the hurricane and salt lake is calling us a lot and i have to take all the calls because im the only one who speaks english. It has been a kinda eventful couple days but we havent done tons of missionary work which is lame. Love you momma, catch ya next week

Hey Momma, President just has us do little things, email him stuff, check stuff weve been working, just things like that he needs. This week we had some sweet contacts, and a lesson which was cool. We taught a dude that is a jehovahs witness and i almost lost my mind. Those people just dont make any sense. We just kept telling him to read the book of mormon but he was just trashing it and we testified and told him to pray and he said God doesnt talk to us and revelation doesnt exist and we just destroyed him with some scriptures and he got pissed so we left. We had conference in Tepic this week and it went pretty well, we went up with sister reyes and it was funny, she is pretty clueless still. I hope the card gets here in time, velazquez leaves in 2 weeks. In my mind their is only 1 person who could possibly be my new companion, there are a few others that people are talking about, but in my head there is only 1. I hope President is on the same page. I love you. -Elder Koenig

Being in guadalajara sucks! President calls us all the time and makes us go to the office and do stuff for him, plus the people here just straight ignore us when we try to talk to them on the street, but its still fun. Guadalajara is kinda safe...mas o menos. The best thing about being assistant is probly seeing people change, there was a missionary that was in our zone when we were zone leaders and was doing a bunch of stuff that isnt good, and just lied to us a lot, but recently we found out about some other stuff so we called and they are changing a lot, even though the majority of their mission they screwed up, they last 3 months they are doing things right, so thats neat. I also just get realy tired of people calling me for stupid problems because they are fighting with their companion and dumb stuff like that.

Hey momma, thanks for the email. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that people are busier, the city life here is so much different, people in the towns are pretty much living in the 1950s, the infrastructure here is so terrible, but in the pueblitos everyone is just super mellow and everyone will let you in and give you food and its sweet. This week something president said was that in every calling we get we are going to have to minister and administer. Because sometimes i am tired of the whole administration part, but ill have to do it my whole life, and if i can learn how to do it well now it will help me out later on. Where are you going to an escape room with the youth? we were going to go to an escape room a while back but they are suuper expensive here. We are going to watch general conference at the church i think, i am excited, not as excited as usual because i havent even had time to think. thanks for the email. I hope you have a good week. Send pictures.

Hey momma, thanks for the update. This week was good. transfers are always the hardest week of my life, we sleep and like 2am all week, and still get up at 6:30, and the day we take people to the airport we get up at 3:30, i still havent got caught up on sleep because there are 2 time zones in the mission, so when the other zones get home and send me their report and stuff its usually like 11:30 so i sleep at like 12:00 usually. This week we found about some stuff going on so we had to talk to some missionaries and I think thats where the whole charity thing really clicked for me, i just felt so much love for them, and so sad for the stuff they were doing, one of the sisters was really mean to me when i called, and normally the type of things she said would've made me angry, but i was just bummed that she was doing the things she was and that she didn't want to repent. It was sad but cool yknow? being assistant is so hard and so annoying because we are opening area in guadalajara and the life here is so fast, nobody has time to listen to us, we didnt teach a single person this week, just did transfers and walked and contacted everyone we saw, it was fun, its just hard to work as much as you want to because we have 1000000 other things to do. thats my week. Love you.
